Define Feminine

Lately, I have been paying attention to my parents and how they speak. In a recent post (The Wand Chooses the Wizard: Fashion Edition), I explored the concept of macho-culture and how masculine identity, especially for gay culture is usually under scrutiny. Lately, my parents have been making some very curious comments that I want to reflect upon.

Knowledge is Power

I have been fairly interested in current events since required by my third grade social studies class to find a news article per week. This continued into college, and further into my profession as an English teacher when I made students do the same on a weekly basis. There is something greatly satisfying about knowing things, but this often comes at a price.
